Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film in which she won the British Academy Television Award as the best actress. French, German English and Romanian are fluent languages. Her father is the theatre professor at one of Romania's top drama schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors in 2000, she took home the Best Female Actor Award 2000. She was chosen as the first European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. Apart from her stellar performance in her debut film, the actress will also be recognized for her performance in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 Weeks and 2 Days which won her many awards such as winning the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She starred as an actress from Romania in Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's film 4 months 3 weeks and Two days, 4 months (four months, three weeks and two three weeks and two days) that was awarded with the Palme d'Or and other prizes at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. In addition, she appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca portrayed Yasim in BBC's five episode The Last Enemy. Marinca was a part of the Romanian drama Boogie as well as Oliver Hirschbiegel's highly acclaimed Five Minutes of Heaven. She played Irma In Fury 2014, where she played an German known aunt for Emma.
